A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to non-existent email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss messages because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a spelling error. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of spam email messages, but this problem can be rectified by using anti-spam filtering software. It is also vital to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming emails to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

If you have a Linux website hosting plan with our company and you would like to activate the catch-all feature for a specific e-mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it’ll take literally only one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have created under any domain name registered in your account. You can select one address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all email messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notification and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be configured with several clicks in case you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated plan with our company. The semi-dedicated account will be administered through our custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up email addresses using any domain registered there. To enable the catch-all option for a given mailbox, you’ll need to click the logo with the same name, which will be on the right side of each mailbox. Deactivating this feature can be done in the exact same manner and will not require more than one click either. In case the catch-all feature has already been activated for a given domain, you will get a warning alert. The same goes if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never disable or replace any feature automatically.
