.US Domain Names

The .US country-code domain extension was launched in 1985 and designated to the USA, but it was opened to the public in 2002. It is among the most widespread country-specific extensions in view of the fact that loads of US businesses prefer to use a local domain and the US market is one of the largest around the globe. Many institutions, agencies and local governments also had or still use second-, third- or even fourth-level .US domains along with their official dot GOV domains.

We are amongst the registrar firms offering .US registrations and your new domain will be working minutes after you order it. The registration period is between one and ten years and you can also move over an already registered domain and we will renew it as soon as the transfer process is completed and the domain is registered on our end. Through our Hepsia Control Panel, you will have total control over your domain name – you can alter your contact details, to park your domain, to create custom DNS records, etc.

Solely US citizens, residents, organizations and business entities can reserve dot US domains, so foreign entities have to have a local presence, whilst individuals from other countries cannot purchase such domains. To enforce these stipulations, the Registry that supervises the TLD – Neustar, performs arbitrary checks on existing domain names. This is also the reason for this country-specific domain not to support Whois Privacy Protection, so the Registrant (owner) contact info will always be publicly visible upon a WHOIS lookup.
